There is a community of like minded souls that appreciate and love the handwritten note. These people take the time to write a letter, say hello or thank you by post rather than through a text or email. This doesn't mean that they do not use electronic devices to communicate... don't get me wrong. But there is still room to do some communication on paper.
Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Queenie Best (Queenie's Cards) and Andrea Raymond-Wong (letter writer and stationery blogger) who have come together to create Q&A Letterbox. Based in Toronto, Queenie and Andrea have created a monthly greeting card subscription series which features products created by independent stationery designers.
As a consumer, how amazing would it be to receive a package in the mail once a month filled with cards and other paper goods? That is what Q&A Letterbox provides... a monthly well curated selection of stationery goodies. This months selection featured Double Dare Print Studio, Impressus, Jonesy and washi tape from Omiyage. (yes, you've heard about my love for Omiyage before)
As a designer included in the Letterbox, I have been filled with happiness to share my love of paper with those who appreciate it as well. To be surrounded by people who share your interests and loves is quite a refreshing and inspiring feeling.
I like this quote by Doris Wai of Love Lettering which I found on Q&A's website...
Snail mail makes you feel thought of and noticed, a feeling that cannot be replaced with an email.
So if you love paper too, sign up and start receiving it by mail! Q&A Letterbox
